The White Picket Fence

What ever happened to the dream of settling down and owning a home with a white picket fence?

Technology.

The whole idea of settling down in your early 20's is way way gone. Modern age medicine allows a woman to become pregnant at any age. Not as us latin millennials used to hear, "a woman must be younger than 36 years old to safely have a baby". Nope, not anymore.

And it is amazing because it has allowed people to explore the world a little bit more, get to know themselves in an era of immediate answers and information at your fingertips. And most importantly, get to know your possible partner.

What I do truly find surprising though is how many people from our younger generation, GenZ, are unwilling to have kids or procreate. They see it as a responsibility, a burden. I mean...What? Where has the idea of lineage, heritage, and the dream of creating a better person with the combined qualities of 2 people who love each other gone? It seems like we have created a generation that will self destruct, that will travel the world but not have a child to be everything you, but better. So, if GenZ is not wanting children, then why are they complaining about losing faith in humanity? There has not been a single point in time when there were no tragedies. Technology has helped group the world together and notice what happens around the globe.

Its mostly because they have lost faith in each other. They cannot handle a financial burden a relationship might bring. They cannot handle the financial responsibilities of having children. So many young people are saying "you should not have children if you cant afford to", so is having children going to define social classes? Having children will only be for the wealthy and the responsible? What about what we millennials always thought of, a child that could become president, a son or daughter that could cure cancer, what is it now, a child that will not allow me to travel the world? a child that I will not have patience for? Where is the faith in humanity when there is a generation that does not believe in themselves nor improvement.

In a way I do agree in the idea of extending these "adult indicators" such as buying a house, getting married, and having children. Go out and travel, go out and actually see what goes on in the world so you can make a difference. Birth rate has been declining every year, it will come to a point where the majority of the population are going to be of old age, and the youngsters will begin to value wisdom and learn from mistakes.
